Star Comics #7
This anthology issue contains three stories: a cover feature showing a man and child observing a stork in a cage, a humorous tale of naval incompetence in which bumbling sailors accidentally sink their own fleet, and "Trail of the Mammoth," in which a man seeks a $50,000 museum reward for finding a mammoth fossil, enlisting an old Eskimo named Kalak to locate a specimen 500 miles away, only to have a villain named Merkel steal his map and claim the prize for himself. The issue also features "The Invention of the Steamboat," an educational piece explaining how Robert Fulton's 1806 vessel, the Clermont, became the forerunner of modern river steamships.
