Straight Arrow #11

A merciless profiteer seizes control of cattle from all the ranchers by holding them at a salt lick, then uses this leverage to force the settlers and Comanche into "The Salt War." As Steve Adams and Packy attempt to move the broken herd toward the salt lick, Red Hawk encounters mysterious supernatural events—a giant in the mist and spirit warriors—that he attributes to the Great Manitou and the spirit of Tanta. Straight Arrow intervenes to break up the riders' posse pursuing the vigilantes, scaling a ridge to prevent further bloodshed and expose the truth: the "ghosts" are actually the Hooper Riders, human men who can be defeated and unmasked.
