Strange Suspense Stories #30 is an anthology containing at least two stories. "Lost Child" follows a small boy of school age who carries an air of otherworldly mystery; Bob Traver encounters the strange child on his mountain ranch and agrees to let him stay and play in the garage, only to discover something profoundly unusual about the boy's nature. "The Treasure" tells of David Cole, who leases an island from real estate agent J. Smith and becomes obsessed with finding buried treasure; after months of fruitless digging, Cole discovers an underwater cable terminal dated August 1953, revealing the "treasure" he sought was actually a modern utility installation—yet the discovery brings him unexpected happiness.
