Strange Suspense Stories #39

This issue of Strange Suspense Stories is an anthology containing at least two stories. The first story depicts a man imprisoned underground who dreams of freedom and revenge, as shovels gradually dig closer to breach his underground tomb during a torrential storm. The second story, "They Won't Listen," tells of John Broomer, an ordinary man who takes a job at Suredough Supermarket and studies higher mathematics at night, but whose wife dismisses his ideas about spaceflight and moving the Earth—a story that explores how people ignore unconventional ideas. A third story appears to involve a haunted house scenario where characters encounter a ghostly or supernatural presence.
