This issue is an anthology featuring war and military-themed stories. "Candidate for a Firing Squad" depicts a young Marine named Steve who is assigned as a sidekick to a runt sergeant on a suicide mission, only to discover the small soldier possesses unexpected courage and combat skill. "Glory Sky-Ace" follows Marine pilot Ted Norman, who engages in a personal rivalry with his older brother Jon, a squadron flight leader, competing to shoot down enemy planes; Ted ultimately proves himself by destroying an enemy vessel. A third story depicts a downed pilot being rescued by Navy personnel from a rubber boat, who then come under fire from enemy forces in the woods and must submerge their vessel to escape an incoming swarm of enemy aircraft.
