Sunset Carson Comics #1
This issue is an anthology featuring three main stories: "Sunset Carson and the Gold Rush," "The Man Who Tamed Abilene," about Tom Smith, an ex-New York cop who became marshal of Abilene, Texas around 1860 and enforced a no-guns law using only his fists until he was murdered by Big Hank during a confrontation, and "The Man Who Shot Billy the Kid," recounting how Pat Garrett shot and killed Billy the Kid on July 14, 1881, at a Spanish Sheepherder's house after the two former friends had a falling out. The issue also includes "Western Talk," an educational feature explaining cowboy terminology and Native American words and their meanings.
