Surprise Adventures #3 This anthology issue contains two stories. "One Way Trip!" follows John Redfield's plan to give his partner Martin Hepburn a surprise vacation by handling business matters alone, but when Martin and his wife Jean leave, John discovers a mysterious shadow that repeatedly saves him from danger in a coal mine, leaving him questioning whether the shadow is real or imaginary. A second story involves a horse racing plot where Eddie, a jockey, uses a fixed race system with Harry and Baldy to make money, but their scheme is complicated when they attempt a bank robbery and Eddie must decide whether to betray his accomplices.
