This issue contains at least two stories. "The Ordeal" follows an escaped mental patient pursued through the woods by police and tracking dogs, who finds refuge in an old man's cabin. A second story, "Flood Waters Rising," involves a fortune teller's murder connected to rising floodwaters and the Wellman Valley, with police investigating the crime as waters mount and threaten the area.
