When Braden appears to be framed and Manning discovers the real culprits are two racketeers named Tony and Ralph operating an extortion scheme, the detectives pursue them in a climactic chase that ends with the criminals' store being destroyed in an explosion. The story resolves with the wrongfully accused man vindicated and the corrupt scheme dismantled.
