This issue contains two stories. "Louise's Aim" follows a young woman named Louise Laver who visits Detective John Gates at the 25th Precinct to apply for a permit to carry a .22 pistol, revealing she is the daughter of a man who took a shooting course at Camp Smith and wants to continue the family tradition; Detective Gates arranges for her to take a firearms test at the Police Range at Hempstead. The second story depicts a man named Paul who attends an evening at the office with colleagues, where he is distracted thinking about a blue-eyed girl he met, and the next morning at work his boss notices Paul is preoccupied and asks about his evening at the dance.
