The Hawk #5
The issue features two main Western stories. "Six-Gun Showdown: Buffalo Hunters on the Warpath—Blood Brothers" follows The Hawk as he pursues the outlaw Reb Sutton, a notorious killer leading a band of desperadoes engaged in cattle rustling and murder across the territory. A U.S. Marshal sends The Hawk to stop Sutton's rampage, leading to a confrontation near Armadillo Flats. "Blood Brothers" depicts Apache tribes struggling to survive as buffalo herds migrate northward into the plains, leaving the Mescalero Apache people facing starvation; the story centers on tribal conflict when a chief must decide whether to allow his hungry people to hunt, constrained by "the Great Spirit's" law.
