The Lone Rider #26
The Lone Rider encounters a criminal named Malone who is buying land cheaply and selling it dear, with plans to ensure the road doesn't go through too fast so he can profit from hired killers. The Lone Rider confronts Malone about his scheme, and when Malone tries to shoot him, the Lone Rider wounds Malone's hand. Rather than kill him, the Lone Rider turns Malone over to the U.S. Marshal, and the land dispute is resolved as the railroad continues its westward expansion.
