The Spirit #21
This anthology issue contains three Spirit stories. "The Grumly Murder," by Will Eisner, explores a psychological experiment in terror where a criminal's mind is manipulated like a rubber band, stretched and twisted until it snaps. "Flatfoot Burns" depicts a comedic race between two characters named Flatfoot Burns and Discus as they compete in a hurdle event, with the lead changing hands multiple times before Flatfoot ultimately wins. The third story, "Love Comes to the Spirit," shows a domestic scene where characters discuss marriage and relationships, with The Spirit appearing to visit a household.
