A young boy named Clarence attempts to perform a tightrope-walking trick to impress his friend Chichi and earn money from a wealthy man named Rodney. After practicing the trick and initially succeeding, Clarence's rope snaps, causing him to fall and injure both Rodney and a police officer. Despite the mishap, Clarence is rewarded with a thousand-dollar check from the police, who credit him with capturing a criminal through his accidental trick.
