Tim Holt confronts the murderous gunslayer Walsh, who attempts to hang him but is stopped by Holt's intervention. Later, Holt suspects something peculiar about Seth's twin brother and his horse, which appears to know too much—leading him to discover the horse itself is the culprit behind recent troubles at the T-Bar-H ranch. When a masked hombre shoots Seth Hobart, Holt pursues and defeats him in combat. The story concludes with Holt and a woman reconciling after the villain's defeat. An additional adventure follows featuring a supernatural demon-like creature called Diavolo, who terrorizes soldiers and must be stopped before reaching Fort Saguila.
