Topix v6 #4 "Blockade Runner" (Part II, Part 1) follows Johnny, whose brother Yelverton returns home after two months following the war's end, bringing news that their friend Pat O'Donnell has lost his arm in battle and can no longer be a priest. A separate story, "It Started in Jail," depicts homeless boys in 1815 France engaging in gambling and petty crime until police raid their hideout, leading one boy to attempt infiltrating a settlement as a Native trader by blackening his face. The issue combines wartime drama with morality tales about the consequences of crime and deception.
