Featured stories include "Pursuit of the Pirates," depicting naval combat against pirate vessels; "Cities of Destiny," chronicling the stormy historical events and development of Charleston, South Carolina from major disasters to becoming a city of charm and progress; "Jungle Hopper," about flying and fighting U.S.A. man Lowell Yerex who opened up the jungles of Central America, showing his rise from a closed auto agency during the 1929 Depression to becoming a successful airline pilot; and the story of Nicholas Appert, a French chef who won a prize for his food preservation formula, placing food in bottles sealed with cork and wax covered with boiling water, which led to the development of the tin can canning industry in New York City sixteen years later under businessman Kensett.
