This anthology issue contains at least two stories: "Mask of the Monster," featuring Lucy Rowan, a tough woman working in a ghoulish business who becomes tormented by shadows and terror when she works late, eventually drawn into a deadly game of revenge; and a tale involving colonial soldiers in India on an expedition to the Temple of Kublai to retrieve a stolen idol, where they encounter natives, a mysterious priest, and a spy who attempts to frame an innocent officer (Ahmed Rai) for theft, leading to accusations of treachery and threats of punishment.
