Voodoo #13 (1954) This issue is an anthology featuring two main stories. "Screaming Shoes" tells of a scientist named Max Murphy who discovers a formula to accelerate metabolism and create a superhuman being, planning to transform a woman named Cynara into a perfect robot-like creature through injections. In the second story, a man steals a wooden puppet carved by a magician named Antonio, leading to supernatural revenge when Antonio uses voodoo magic to animate the puppet as a demon that pursues the thief through the forest and into the hands of the police, ultimately resulting in the criminal's downfall as he is caught and the puppet's curse is revealed to the magistrate.
