War at Sea #30

A U.S. aircraft carrier comes under attack and returns with damaged fuel tanks and only one thing left to do. As planes land and the crew prepares the ship, a torpedo from a destroyer strikes nearby. Two U-boats eagerly pursue the crippled Tincan, but their haste gets them into trouble. When a fuel line begins leaking on the port side, Johnny Damita takes control at the ballast trim despite the flames from the oil fire, staying at his post while the damage control party fights the blaze and ultimately rescues him from the heat.
