War at Sea #34

This issue is an anthology containing multiple war stories. "The Life Saver" depicts soldiers in the North African desert during World War II who are saved from dehydration by a sergeant's rationed canteen of water, which he carefully preserves each night by digging a hole to keep it cool. "Tough Fighter" follows Private John Ingellert, a young Marine recruit stationed at camp who meets and falls in love with Helen Smith during leave at a beach; when the Colonel discovers their romance, he reassigns Ingellert to night duty to separate them. A third untitled story involves a naval captain and crew who devise a plan to use a Japanese patrol bomber to approach enemy battleships and inflict damage, successfully attacking the vessels three days later.
