Warfront #25

Warfront #25 is an anthology of war stories. The lead story, "The Crying Heroes!," depicts an Allied amphibious assault during the Normandy invasion where Sergeant Hannigan and his men face intense German counterfire from machine guns, artillery, and shore batteries as they attempt to secure the beachhead; despite heavy casualties and a sniper's bullet that kills the sergeant, the soldiers ultimately overcome their fear and push inland. A second story featuring soldiers discusses a fellow soldier who was formerly a race car driver, now serving as a messenger, before being killed by German fire. The issue includes various other combat narratives exposing the brutal realities of warfare.
