This anthology issue contains at least two stories: a tale of a cavalry rider named Thunder attempting a dangerous leap across a chasm while being chased by Sioux warriors, with the narrative continuing through the night as Portugee pursues the group to get help for those trapped at a fort; and "Hamburger Gauchos," a humorous story about business troubles at the Hogge Meat Packing Company where the manager needs beef to fill cans but the cattle pens are empty. A third story, "The Law Beams," depicts a shootout and confrontation involving characters named Chunk, Clay, and others at what appears to be a frontier gathering.
