This anthology issue contains three western stories. "Black Jack's Wooden Dream" follows a U.S. Marshal pursuing the wanted outlaw Black Jack Tangue, who is being hunted across the western states; the marshal and sheriff work to track him down before he escapes. "The Yogi of Yucca Flat" depicts a strange mystic character who arrives at a border town plagued by raids from Mexican bandit Manolo, and the townspeople react with both suspicion and curiosity to this unusual visitor. "Dakota Drum Trap" shows a young Native American boy attempting to save his tribe's valuable ponies during a flood that threatens an Indian village, while his father urges him to focus on other survival priorities.
