Another story depicts a woman in a red dress who must shoot a dangerous prize bull that has escaped after it gores her father, then pursues the animal on horseback to prevent further tragedy. A third story involves two brothers—Pat and Steve—where Pat abandons Steve unwilling to delay in town, leading to misunderstanding and tragedy when Steve is shot; Pat ultimately flees with money, haunted by the belief that his departure caused his brother's death.
