This anthology issue features "Tom Mix in The Hotel Hoax," in which Tom Mix confronts a businessman named Alex Morrow who has opened a rival hotel and is sabotaging Tom's establishment to drive him out of business. During a stagecoach journey, a rope trap across the road nearly kills Monte Hale, but Tom and his allies manage to stop the coach and rescue him. Tom pursues the culprits across desert terrain on horseback and ultimately defeats them in a confrontation, stopping Morrow's scheme.
