Dan and his fellow Indians encounter British soldiers and loyalists during a Revolutionary War conflict. Colonel Chester devises a plan to ambush the raiders at a depot near a farmhouse, positioning a detachment to catch them in a trap. Dan is sent on a dangerous mission to British headquarters to gather intelligence about the location of the British forage depot, where he discovers Von Steuben is instituting a new training program to make soldiers look more professional. Dan uses a dog to help divert sentries and successfully infiltrates the British position to complete his reconnaissance mission.
