This issue presents two stories. The main story, "The Curse of Kalunga," follows Wild Boy as he encounters a village chief named Ungar who threatens the Bwamali territory, leading to conflict that Wild Boy must resolve. The Joe Barton Special feature, "The River of Allah," begins in Lagos where explorer Joe Barton meets a mysterious fanatic who leads him into a dark interior in search of a legendary lost river, and later shows Wild Boy joining the Watussi tribe in combat against the powerful Watussi warriors, where he returns a sacred spear and earns their respect.
