"After-School Wife" follows a young married couple whose relationship becomes strained when the wife takes a job. Ben resents his wife Lee's new independence and begins spending time at the golf club with his boss, Mr. Spencer, eventually becoming involved with another woman named Gloria. Lee discovers Ben's infidelity and confronts him about his behavior, leading to arguments about their roles and responsibilities. After a series of conflicts involving their desire to have children and disagreements over work and domestic duties, the couple separates, with Ben leaving and Joey (their child or young relative) caught in the middle as Julia pleads with Dan to help resolve the situation.
