"Shadow-Wife!" follows a man torn between his wife and the memory of a former love. When the man's ex-fiancée, Miss Bowman, begins corresponding with his wife and later arrives to take over management of their farm, the man fears her presence will destroy his marriage. His wife, however, recognizes Miss Bowman's manipulative intent from a letter she intercepts and dismisses her, affirming that she and her husband will build their life together without interference from the past. The couple resolves to move forward, rejecting the shadow of his former love that threatened to come between them.
