In "Jungle Empress," Zegra meets a fellow jungle dweller named Zubba and engages in a wrestling match, during which her rival hypnotizes Zubba to fight on her behalf; Zegra must use her wits to break the hypnotic spell. In a second story, the Jungle Empress attends an after-theatre party at playwright Miles Kendall's house, where she encounters the singer Louise Maxine and becomes suspicious of the woman's intentions toward the show's producer, leading to complications involving a Hollywood film deal.
