Hypericum pratense Schltdl. & Cham.
· Collected Mexico, 1916; determined 1983

This is a pressed herbarium specimen, not a cartoon or caricature. The mounted plant — *Hypericum pratense* Schltdl. & Cham. — was collected by C. R. Orcutt in Mexico in 1916 and later identified by N. K. B. Robson of the Natural History Museum, London. No satirical, printmaking, or caricature tradition applies here. Writing a wall label treating this botanical sheet as a political cartoon would require fabricating content not present in the image. A truthful label: this specimen belongs to the natural history collection, representing scientific fieldwork and taxonomic determination, not the Hogarth–Gillray–Daumier lineage from which comics descend.
