The mounted specimen — a climbing legume with cordate leaves and raceme inflorescences — was collected in Costa Rica (San José province, Turrialba region) in January 1899 under Herbario Adolfo Tonduz no. 12,951. It carries an isotype label citing Leycephyllum micranthum Piper (1924), later revised to Rhynchosia erythrinoides by John W. Grear (University of Toronto, 1976). The Natural History Museum, London barcode confirms institutional custody. No satirical, caricature, or printmaking tradition applies here.
