Jacaranda decurrens Cham. (Type Specimen, Percy Sladen Expedition)
· Collected 1902, described 1907

This is not a cartoon or caricature. It is a pressed botanical herbarium specimen — *Jacaranda roberti* S. Moore (later determined by Alwyn H. Gentry, Missouri Botanical Garden, 1975, to be *Jacaranda decurrens* Cham.) — mounted on archival board with printed Latin description, handwritten field notes, and a Natural History Museum accession label. Collected by A. Robert during the Percy Sladen Expedition in Matto Grosso, Brazil, 1902. No satirical content, printmaking tradition, or caricature is present. Displaying this object as a political cartoon would misrepresent its nature and scientific provenance. A wall label for this piece belongs in natural history, not comics history.
