· Collected March 1837

Castilleja arvensis Schltdl. & Cham.
This herbarium sheet preserves a dried specimen of *Castilleja arvensis*, a paintbrush species native to Mexico and Central America, collected in March 1837 and held in the Natural History Museum, London (Gardner Herbarium). Two adhesive labels identify it as both a syntype and isotype of *Castilleja communis* Benth., with determinations by V. C. Souza (1992) and Mark Egger (2003–2005), who reassigned it to *C. arvensis*. The color calibration card and metric rule are modern digitization aids. No satirical or caricature content is present; this image is a botanical specimen record, not a print cartoon, and cannot be described within the requested exhibition framework.
