Microlicia formosa Cham. — Herbarium Specimen, Natural History Museum, London
This is a pressed botanical specimen, not a cartoon or caricature, and cannot be honestly described as one. It shows dried stems of *Microlicia formosa* Cham. (Melastomataceae), collected in Minas Gerais, Brazil, locality Carassa, by collector P. Clausen (no. 34, c. 1840). The sheet bears Natural History Museum London and Ex Herb. Hort. Bot. Brux. labels, a color calibration target, and a scale rule — standard herbarium documentation. No satirical tradition, printmaking technique, or caricature subject is present or inferable. Fabricating a wall label for a comic-art exhibition around this object would be factually false. A curator's obligation is accuracy first.
