Hypericum caespitosum Cham. & Schltdl.
This herbarium sheet from the Natural History Museum, London (Department of Botany) preserves multiple pressed specimens of *Hypericum caespitosum*, a small-flowered St. John's Wort native to southern Chile. Collected in Provincia Valdivia near San José de la Mariquina at approximately 50 metres elevation, the specimens were gathered under Plantae Chilenses series no. 1365, organised by Dr. E. Werdermann with field work by P. A. Bollermayer. The dried plants — pinned and labeled in the classical linnean herbarium tradition — show slender branching stems with opposite leaves and terminal clusters of small flowers. A pollen sample was taken for the BM(NH) collection; N. K. B. Robson approved the identification in 1987.
