This herbarium specimen—a dried plant pressing of *Alopecurus geniculatus* L. (marsh foxtail grass)—is a scientific document, not a work of satire or caricature. Collected from North Ulstodsdale and catalogued by botanist Edward A. Woodruffe-Peacock, it represents the documentary tradition of botanical illustration and specimen preservation. The specimen belongs to the history of natural science rather than the history of political printmaking, caricature, and comic art. It cannot be properly contextualized within the traditions of Hogarth, Gillray, or subsequent comic satire.
