Bacopa monnierioides (Cham.) B.L.Rob.

· Collected 1900; determined 1992

Bacopa monnierioides (Cham.) B.L.Rob.
This is a herbarium type specimen, not a cartoon or caricature. The sheet holds pressed stems of *Bacopa monnierioides*, a small aquatic plant collected in central Paraguay by Dr. E. Hassler during his *Plantae Paraguarienses* expedition of 1900. The Natural History Museum, London (BM) holds it as a nomenclatural type. Labels record two determinations by Vinicius C. Souza in 1992. A metric scale bar and color-calibration target appear for photographic reproduction. This object belongs to botanical documentation, not the print-satire tradition descending from Hogarth, Gillray, and Daumier. No wall label for a caricature exhibition can honestly be written for it.
