Eryngium serra Cham. & Schltdl. — Herbarium Type Specimen
· Collected c. 1875; accessioned 1887

This is not a cartoon or caricature. The image is a pressed and mounted herbarium specimen — a botanical voucher sheet — showing dried flowering branches and a single serrated basal leaf of *Eryngium serra* (family Apiaceae), affixed with paper tape to archival board. Handwritten and printed labels identify it as type material examined by Arno Wörz at the Staatliches Museum für Naturkunde, Stuttgart, in 2001. A color-calibration strip and ruled scale confirm its use as a scientific photographic record. It belongs to the Natural History Museum, London, collection and has no connection to the print-satire or caricature tradition from which comics descend.
