Aquatint printed in color and hand-finished, etched by Joseph Bluck after drawings by Thomas Rowlandson and Augustus Charles Pugin, this plate belongs to *Microcosm of London* (1808–10), Ackermann's landmark documentary series. The Hall is rendered with architectural precision — vaulted ceiling, tall arched windows, portrait busts — while Rowlandson's characteristic line animates the powdered-wigged physicians around the green baize table into a gallery of type rather than individual portraiture: the corpulent, the doddery, the self-important. The candidate stands isolated, visually outnumbered. No savage political target here, but the class comedy is clear — medicine as guild ritual, access guarded by elderly men of property.
